Rey's Birthday Party! - MCA Holosuite, Wednesday

The holosuite was a fickle creature and had always been as such for as long as Jaskier had been aware of it. So, it really should come as no surprise that all his hard work (he bribed some squirrels to help.) had been nearly been all for nought when the room inexplicably turned in a saloon.

But you know what? He wasn't a quitter when it came to parties, so he worked with it!

A theme never hurt anyone, right? So, welcome to Rey's birthday hootenanny, y'all!

"I think most things on this island hates everybody equally," he said, kissing her. "It's never just you."

"Thank you for the validation," Rey smiled. "I think you did pass up an opportunity to wear your cowboy costume again."

No, she wasn't serious.

He laughed. "What makes you think I kept it?"

"It was a very important step in our relationship," Rey tried.

"Did you keep the poofy pink dress?" he asked.

"Technically but mostly because it felt like an odd thing to donate," she admitted. "It's so big."

"I'm sure someone would have been interested," he joked. "Someone strange, but still."

"Someone who had another costume party, I hope," Rey said. "Did you keep it?"

She wasn't bothered either way.

"It might be in my closet somewhere?" he said. "Honestly I don't know for sure."

"The important thing is you ever had it in the first place," she said. "And that now I have some sort of context for the Wild West."

"Do you think there was this much glitter in the wild west?" he asked.

"Absolutely nothing. I think this is a very specific Fandom version," Rey said. "And we already probably have some on us."

There's still be some in the room at the next movie night.

"I've learned glitter is a fact of life on this island," he said. "I'm at peace with that."

"I remain impressed with how well you've adjusted to this place," Rey teased.

"It's a talent of mine," he said, shrugging one shoulder. "So is there anything specific you want in terms of celebrating your birthday? Not that you can really top the cowboy thing."

"This is actually pretty perfect," Rey admitted. "I'm surrounded by everyone here that I love, I get to leave with you. I can't imagine what else I could ask for."

Sap.

"That's sweet," he said, leaning in for another kiss. "And very simple, I barely have to do anything at all."

"I'm very easy like that," Rey said, kissing him back. "You're here, so I'm happy."
