Rey's Birthday Party! - MCA Holosuite, Wednesday

The holosuite was a fickle creature and had always been as such for as long as Jaskier had been aware of it. So, it really should come as no surprise that all his hard work (he bribed some squirrels to help.) had been nearly been all for nought when the room inexplicably turned in a saloon.

But you know what? He wasn't a quitter when it came to parties, so he worked with it!

A theme never hurt anyone, right? So, welcome to Rey's birthday hootenanny, y'all!

In what seemed to be a saloon that was almost covered in glitter. Because the squirrels, mostly. But also because glitter was festive if you asked Jaskier.

Well. This theme definitely seemed like...a choice?

(Ironic).

But Summer wasn't going to judge, even if she was suddenly wondering if she'd leaned a little too hard into the now-seemingly-too-obvious space theme with her jello shots, but whatever! A party was a party, and this one was even more of a party because it was Rey's! Whoo!

Silver was not surprised that the Holosuite screwed this up. He didn't seem to mind too much. It still looked festive, in a way.

"We'll say this was on purpose, right?" Right, Silver? You agree with him or there would be bardic hysterics.

"We can," he said with a nod. "Nobody will believe it though."

"Yes, but we will be convincing about it!"

...

"Sure we will." It might work if either of them had any idea of what the Old West was.

Steve had to swing by to celebrate his neighbor (even if finding out how old she was turning would make him feel So Very Old), and was not expecting a saloon theme at all.

"Well, this is different."

So, so old.

"They better clean up all the glitter is all I'm saying," Danny said.

Steve snickered. "You know there is no way to ever fully clean up glitter," he said. "Don't set yourself for disappointment like that."

"Then you're sleeping on the lanai until it's off your feet," Danny informed him. You know. Helpfully.

Steve gave him a little smirk. "I don't mind the lānai."

Could you hear his Hawaiian in there, Danno? He did it on purpose.

As though Annie would miss Rey's birthday, no matter how much she'd been getting chewed out 24/7 since arriving back in New York (apparently, "I fell in a hole" wasn't a great excuse to some people?)

She made a quick stop at home to change out of her uniform before arriving, and....

"I like it." You know what, she did. Way to embrace a theme (or something.)

Danny jerked his head up in greeting of Annie from down the saloon bar. Because this was all just such a choice.

Did he already manage to have glitter on his chin? Yes.

"I kinda want to see if there's sarsaparilla around here," Annie admitted as she wandered over, making a little cowboyish finger-gun at Danny. (And then holstering her finger gun, like a polite cowboy who was indoors.)

"Oh god, that stuff is terrible." You know who would think it was good? Five.

"Aw, I like it!" No, Annie did too, because Annie liked bad things. So she and Five could bond over that! "I have an aunt in Arizona and they totally had it at a restaurant we went to when I visited her last."

It was like root beer, but more. And kind of minty?

Anakin was there for a hot second because he felt like people partied more happily when he wasn't there, but he had to stop in to see Rey.

In a saloon. Not even a cantina? Strange.

Stark was going to at least make a brief appearance. This birthday ought to be calmer than the last one he attended and he had spent a good part of the day outside.

"This is different," he said, walking in and blinking a few times at the setting and the copious amounts of glitter. "Very sparkly."

Cade was there because last year's party had been a hell of a time and he'd remembered that.

Did he know anyone's name here yet? Not really. Was that beside the point? Entirely!

It was Rey’s birthday, of course Liam was here!

“I don’t know that this is historically accurate,” he observed. Not that it particularly mattered, given that the birthday girl herself and a number of the guests weren’t even from this world.

(And it was festive.)

Steve gave him that two fingered bro wave thing from the other side of the saloon. "Root beer?" he yelled.

“Please!” Liam confirmed gratefully, before making his way over to Steve. “How’re you doing?”

He was certainly looking far less aneurysm-prone than he had been, the last couple weeks!

Steve rolled his shoulders out. "Well, I haven't had to think about a raccoon since Monday, so things are better. You?"
